Where do bed bugs live?

Bed bugs live in cracks and crevices close to where people sleep or rest. The ‘home’ is called a harbourage and is marked by bed bug faeces. Common hiding spots include mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, and furniture joints. They can also be found in skirtings, electrical outlets, behind picture frames, or in carpeting. Bed bugs prefer dark, hidden areas that allow them to stay undisturbed during the day and feed at night.
