Do bed bugs run from light?

Bedbugs are not particularly sensitive to light in the same way that some other insects are. They are nocturnal creatures, meaning they are most active during the night and prefer darkness when feeding.

However, they are not necessarily repelled by light. In fact, they can still move around in well lit areas if they need to seek out a host for feeding.

That said, when bedbugs are exposed to light, they may seek shelter in cracks, crevices, or other dark hiding places. So, while they don’t run from light in a direct sense, they may retreat to darker areas to avoid exposure.

Additionally, bedbugs are more likely to be active when it’s dark, so they may seem less active in well lit environments simply because it’s not their preferred time for activity.
