Do bed bugs run from light?

Bedbugs are nocturnal creatures, meaning they are most active during the night and prefer darkness when feeding.

Though bed bugs are repelled by light they may still move around in well-lit areas or in broad daylight if they need to find a host.

To avoid light exposure, bed bugs typically hide in cracks, crevices, or other dark places.

So, while they don’t run from light in a direct sense, they may retreat to darker areas to avoid exposure.

Additionally, bedbugs are more likely to be active when it’s dark, so they may seem less active in well lit environments simply because it’s not their preferred time for activity.
