Do bed bugs hibernate?
No, but at temperatures below 50°F (13°C), they become inactive and can remain in this state for months until the temperature rises and a blood meal becomes available.
If you close up a summer house with inactive bed bugs for the winter, they will likely still be alive when the house is reopened in the spring. Once active again, the bed bugs will start searching for food so they can feed and continue to reproduce.
